Best journalists covering decentralisation in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast awarded

The journalists – winners of the oblast competition “New Hromadas – New Opportunities” were awarded in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The journalist competition is organised by the oblast council following the methodology of the Council of Europe and with the support of the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre. The competition devoted to the decentralisation topic has been held this year for the first time.

“The Organising Committee received 69 applications – it is, by the way, the largest number compared with other oblasts of Ukraine. The jury, composed of editors from the leading regional media, identified the 12 best authors. The first-place winners received UAH 12 thousand, the second prize was UAH 10 thousand, and the third one – UAH 7 thousand. This competition is an important step to support journalists, covering the reform,” says Valeriya Didkovska, LGDC adviser.
