At a Governmental meeting Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk presented a new stage of implementation of the “Small Cities – Great Impressions” project competition, launched by the Ministry of Culture in 2018. The project aims to promote further cultural and economic development of territories and will be carried out jointly with the local administration in 2019.
“It was the first attempt to bring the issue of cultural development of small cities and territories to the agenda. In 2019 – at the initiative of Prime Minister of Ukraine 50 UAH mln were allocated for the competition from the state budget to support cultural initiatives in settlements with up to 50 thousand residents. The task of the Ministry of Culture was to develop a completely understandable, easy to use and transparent conditions of implementation, therefore, we have approved the Procedure for conducting the competition “Small cities – Great Impressions” I want to present not only to the Government and colleagues, but also to the whole country. Implementation of projects should contribute to sustainable development and inclusive society with a high quality of life, which is, after all, a key objective of our Government. Last year, we actively encouraged hromadas to live in a creative way. And this year we offer a new slogan “See Ukraine”, said Yevhen Nyshchuk.
