A pilot project has been recently launched in Ukraine — Hromada Police Officer. The first step was made in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Following the selection procedure, tests, interviews and the lie-detector test, 34 trained police officers were commissioned to replace local policemen in several amalgamated hromadas. Each of them received a car, a tablet, new uniform, an office with a computer as well as new powers and a higher salary. From now on, these police officers must work locally — in close contact with residents of villages and small towns, to be always available to help.
