The Novobohdanivska amalgamated hromadas is a unique one – it was the first AH in Ukraine established on the border of two rayons – Melitopol and Mykhaylivka ones in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Its members are two village councils, which names sound similar – the Novobohdanivska and Starobohdanivska AHs. The first elections in the hromadas took place in October 2017. A year and a half ago, head of the AH Dmytro Khlystun attended various events at the Zaporizhzhia Local Government Development Centre established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion and lamented numerous problems asking himself again and again “Why did I agree to take this job?”. However, now he strongly recommends a faster action to all hromadas that have not amalgamated yet.
