August, 15 is the International Stray Pets Day, initiated by the International Animal Rights Community. This day has been celebrated in over 50 countries and on 6 continents for 28 years, Ukraine not being an exception.

The day is aimed at drawing attention to stray pets, mainly, dogs and cats, emerging in the street due to human violence and irresponsibility. It is also a reason for stray pets to be paid attention to, helped and perhaps found a shelter.

In this respect Rzhyschev AH is a success, as here the initiative of protecting homeless pets has been existing for a long time.

Local volunteers take care of stray pets but they want to establish the Vlasiy Dim animal protection centre.
