One of these days the working group, implementing the decentralization reform in Ukraine, established by the Committee on the state power organization, local self-government, regional and urban development, will consider a draft of the law On the Local Self-Government in Ukraine in a new wording.

In general, the law draft has to harmonise the Ukrainian legislation with the European Charter of Local Self-Government. To tell you the truth, it doesn’t cover oblast and rayon councils, the executive functions of which will be performed by local state administrations until the relative amendments are made to the Constitution.
