Decentralisation: new reform monitoring by the MinRegion

The MinRegion is going on to monitor the local self government reform and decentralization progress in the regions. From February, 2021, the monitoring will be based on new criteria the number of which will be gradually increasing.

It was highlighted by Vyacheslav Nehoda, Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

«On an errand for the Government, our ministry is monitoring all the current changes in the regions due to decentralisation. Up to last year we publicized the monitoring results monthly. From last summer Ukraine has been undergoing global changes in the territorial arrangement. Eventually following the local elections of October, 25, 2020, all these transformations have settled in from January, 1, 2021, the new budget period having started. Now we have a new administrative and territorial arrangement at the hromada and rayon and a completely different division of powers and resources locally. Obviously, the criteria for us to assess the reform progress in the regions have also changed», - said Vyacheslav Nehoda.
