The starosta institute development: public discussion has formed a common stance

Participants of the round table, entitled: «A starosta in a hromada: status, aim and tasks» have supported bill On Amending some Laws of Ukraine on the Starosta Institute Development № 4535 and suggested the parliament’s passing it as soon as possible.

The other day the round table, entitled: «A starosta in a hromada: status, aim and tasks», was held, having been initiated by the parliamentary committee on the state power organisation, local self-government, regional and urban development. The event was supported by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, the local self-government association and Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Decentralisation Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO). Starosta’s status, rights, obligations and authorities were discussed there, as well as starosta district formation principles and starosta institute development problems in Ukraine.
