The starosta institute development: the Parliament has passed bill №4535 in its first reading

Today, on March, 2, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved in principle the draft of Law of Ukraine on amending some laws of Ukraine on the starosta institute development №4535.

The law, in particular, suggests holding mandatory public discussion with the locals prior to nominating a starosta candidate for the hromada to consider.

According to the law draft, starosta’s entering the hromada executive board shall not be mandatory anymore. At the same time a starosta shall be entitled to participate and address the council, executive committee and other council bodies meeting.
