The Mayor of Kyiv, the head of the Association of Cities of Ukraine Vitalii Klychko calls on all heads of municipalities of Ukraine to join the signing of the Global Declaration of Mayors for Democracy, which was adopted by the World Parliament of Mayors at the initiative of the Marshall Fund.

“I have signed the Global Declaration of Mayors for Democracy and I invite all Ukrainian mayors to support this initiative, because independent local self-government is a testimony and a guarantee of democracy in every country,” noted Vitalii Klychko.

As reported by the Association of Cities of Ukraine, the Global Declaration was noted in the latest G7 communiqué, and also supported at the Global Summit for Democracy held under the chairmanship of the United States.

More than 100 mayors from five continents have already signed the Global Declaration.
