The second stage of training for Ukrainian municipalities provided by the European Commission begins: Registration is open until April 21

This training course on inclusive reconstruction, the first of its kind in Ukraine, is developed for government officials, municipal representatives and architects. The programme is based on the principles of the New European Bauhaus: sustainability, inclusiveness, aesthetics. The main objective of the course is to help find sustainable and long-term solutions for urgent and strategic reconstruction needs.

The second module “Circular Economy and Energy Efficiency” of online webinars will be held on May 4. Its participants will learn approaches to energy independence, autonomy, circular design and rational use of resources.

The module was created for teams of small, medium and large cities and municipalities of Ukraine.

Key topics of the webinar:

  • Inclusion of circular economy principles in the strategy of post-war development of cities and municipalities
  • Smart distributed networks of autonomous and renewable energy, circular design and architecture
  • Chemical/physical recovery of materials (especially demolition waste) for reuse.

The module is curated by ReThink experts. This is an NGO that is committed to rethinking production and consumption as well as changing the functioning of the linear model of the “take-make-waste” economy.

Registration is open until April 21 inclusive here: https://bit.ly/3UKs8IF

The programme was developed by the European Commission together with Ukrainian experts for representatives of Ukrainian municipalities who will be involved in the reconstruction process.

The course was developed and has been implemented by the New European Bauhaus programme of the European Commission together with the Ukrainian NGOs, Ro3kvit and ReThink, in partnership with the Council of Architects of Europe and the Covenant of Mayors — East project.
