Reconstruction works are underway in the village of Blahodativka of Kalynivska municipality in Kherson Oblast, which is part of the Side by Side programme of the President of Ukraine for the restoration of municipalities affected by Russian aggression.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Kuleba announced this on his Telegram channel.

"Within the framework of the Side by Side initiative of the President, teams of workers from Volyn came to Blahodativka to restore the village. The reconstruction works are already underway. This includes replacing windows, doors, ceilings, roofs and more. The important thing is to finish the works before it gets cold," wrote Oleksiy Kuleba.

According to him, almost 400 people from 15 oblasts of Ukraine work to restore the damaged villages in Kherson Oblast.

"I appreciate the oblasts and municipalities that lent a helping hand This is just the beginning. It is important that the second stage of the pilot project is about to start - these are 50 more settlements of Kherson Oblast included in the Side by Side initiative. We aim to help each of them. Only together, through joint efforts, we can revive municipalities," said the Deputy Head of the President's Office.

"Side by Side" is an initiative of the President of Ukraine to restore settlements at the level of municipality to municipality or oblast to oblast. The funding for the restoration of settlements in Kherson Oblast comes from the oblast and local budgets, with no state budget funds involved so far. "Side by Side" is a part of the We Build Ukraine project, presented by the Ministry of Restoration at the London Conference. We Build Ukraine's goal is to unite all international partners involved or planning to join Ukraine's recovery.
