Scooters and medical equipment for doctors in de-occupied communities with support from Switzerland

Prompt medical care and reducing the time from a patient's call to a doctor's appointment are two of the most critical factors in maintaining the health of residents of de-occupied communities!

From now on, thanks to the scooters, which were transferred to the Borodyanska community healthcare centers as part of the "Restoration of Medical Infrastructure in Communities" project, the community's medical staff, including doctors, paramedics, and nurses, will be able to reach patients as quickly as possible.

Motorized transport will also reduce the time for doctors to travel from remote settlements to the central estate of the community.

In addition to the scooters, medical equipment was transferred to the community healthcare centers. This need is no less urgent than transport, as, after the russian occupation, little was left in the medical centers that were looted.

Computer equipment and medical bags fully equipped with the necessary medical supplies will improve the quality and accessibility of medical services for the population.

Vehicles and equipment were purchased with the support of the Skat Foundation (Switzerland) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) with the financial support of the canton of St Gallen (Switzerland)

"Improving access to medical services for everyone is a priority for this project. This is especially true for communities whose residents have survived the Russian occupation. It is difficult to imagine what happened here during the Russians' stay and how it affected the health of our compatriots who stayed here during that time. That is why it is important that the rural health posts and outpatient clinics in the partner Borodyanska community are restored to a better quality than before the war. Together with our Swiss partners, we are working on this, and step by step, we are helping to restore the medical infrastructure of the community," said Oksana Garnets, President of the NGO "DESPRO," which is implementing the project in Ukraine.

The project "Restoration of Medical Infrastructure in Communities" is implemented by the NGO "DESPRO" in partnership with the Skat Foundation and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) with the financial support of the Canton of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
