Chernihiv region and Kent County are actively developing cooperation between communities, creating the basis for long-term friendship and partnership.
A partnership agreement has recently been signed between Cobham parish council (Kent) and the Baturyn territorial community of Chernihiv region.
Mike Booth, Chair of Cobham parish council, said that by signing this agreement, the people of Cobham reaffirm their support and commitment to the Ukrainian people.
‘We look forward to further developing this relationship and are ready to fully engage the entire Cobham community in this important effort,’ said Mike Booth.

The agreement covers many aspects: from cultural and educational cooperation to infrastructure rehabilitation and social support. Joint initiatives are aimed to improve the quality of life of people in the two communities.
This is already the second step in establishing cooperation between the territories: last week, the Meopham parish of Kent and the Ivanivka territorial community signed a similar agreement. The parties agreed to cooperate in several areas, including economic relations, community development, education and training, youth and sports, social support and mental health, support for veterans, humanitarian aid, and more.
As reported earlier, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chernihiv regional military administration and Kent county council was signed in November last year.
