In June, the Ministry of Social Policy, jointly with communities and in cooperation with NGOs, opened 50 more resilience centres in different regions of Ukraine.
‘A total of 279 communities have already launched resilience centres, which are spaces where people can receive professional psychosocial support. We can see how these centres are changing the lives of Ukrainians: they are helping families to cope with their losses, provide support to veterans and restore strength to those who have lost it. This is extremely important given the constant stress we are all experiencing because of the war,’ said Oksana Zholnovych, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine.
The resilience centres welcome visitors who have lost their homes due to the war, families who have suffered losses, and military personnel who have returned from the front line. The centres are also open to anyone experiencing stress, anxiety or emotional exhaustion. These spaces are open to people of all ages and backgrounds, including children, young people, parents, pensioners, internally displaced persons (IDPs), military personnel and people with disabilities.
Psychologists, social managers, and social work specialists work in resilience centres, conducting group sessions and providing individual counselling. They discuss anxiety, emotional exhaustion, difficulties in communicating with children or adapting to new circumstances. There are parental support programmes, self-regulation skills training, and self-help groups. Specialists can advise on where to seek legal, medical, or other specialised help as needed.
By June 2025, there have been 279 such spaces in Ukraine, and the network is constantly growing.

The services provided are free, voluntary, and anonymous. Visitors simply need to come to the resilience centre and sign up for a consultation or join one of its activities.
Resilience centres are a pilot project of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme “How Are U?” initiated by Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine.
They are launched in communities in partnership with non-governmental organisations. The premises of the centres are designed according to barrier-free principles, as set out in the Guide developed by the Ministry of Social Policy together with its partners.
