Frontline regions to obtain about UAH 1 billion for urgent needs

Frontline regions will receive an additional state budget subsidy of UAH 936.6 million to meet their immediate needs. The relevant order was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

It provides for*:

  • UAH 360 million for nine regional budgets (Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions)
  • UAH 576.6 million for 93 budgets of communities located in areas of active or potential hostilities.

‘The aggressor state is attempting to deliberately destroy critical infrastructure, logistics and civilian facilities. Russia continues to shell frontline areas in particular. That is why we will continue to provide maximum assistance to those living and working under constant threat. These funds will be used for the most essential needs, such as building bomb shelters for residents, carrying out emergency repairs to critical infrastructure and purchasing vehicles for local utility companies – anything that will help communities survive and save lives,’ said Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

Funds allocated to support frontline regions can be used to meet the most important protection and operational needs, including

  • construction or equipping of bomb shelters,
  • urgent emergency repair work,
  • building materials for the restoration of damaged facilities,
  • repair of heating, gas, water supply and sewage systems, heating and electrical networks,
  • protection of critical infrastructure facilities.
