Eleven more projects selected for implementation under financial agreements with the European Investment Bank

A meeting of the Expert Working Group on the initiation, preparation, support and implementation of joint projects with the European Investment Bank, as part of the Emergency Credit Programme for Ukraine's Recovery and the Ukraine Recovery Programmes I and III, was held under the chairmanship of Oleksii Riabykin, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

‘European Investment Bank funding is an important tool for implementing strategic projects that aim to increase Ukraine’s resilience in the context of war. Funds from these programmes can be used to restore social infrastructure, housing, and communal services in affected regions and communities that have taken in the largest number of internally displaced persons,’ said Oleksii Riabykin.

Based on the review of community proposals, a further 11 projects were recommended for implementation. Seven of these projects are to be implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk region. These include the reconstruction of premises for a rehabilitation department in the Shakhtarske community, the construction of a dual-purpose building that can be used as a shelter in the Mykolaivka community, the construction of a water tower and water supply network in the Mahdalynivka community, the reconstruction of the water supply network in the Verkhniodniprovsk community, the construction of a modular shelter in the Samar community, and major repairs to the anti-radiation shelter and civil defence structures in the Zhovti Vody community.

The Commission also selected four projects in the Mykolaiv region. These are: the construction of a civil defence facility in the Bratske community; major repairs to a civil defence facility in the Vesniane community; major repairs to a lyceum in the Bereznehuvate community; and the reconstruction of the water supply system and installation of an artesian well in the Shyroke community.

The Commission includes representatives from the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health, and local governments in Ukraine. All recommended projects will be submitted to the European Investment Bank for approval.

As previously reported, the Ministry for Development has held an open competition for projects in the DREAM ecosystem every year since 2024. Communities submit applications, which are then evaluated and reviewed by the Commission in an open and transparent manner. All information about the competition is publicly available.
