The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution developed by the Ministry of Finance, which agreed on the distribution of additional subsidies from the state budget to local budgets in 2026 in the amount of UAH 2.95 billion.

This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The funds will be used to finance the expenditure of educational and healthcare institutions under the responsibility of local governments. The aim is to ensure the stable operation of schools, hospitals and other socially important institutions in communities and regions.

The additional subsidy has been distributed by regional state administrations and approved by the Government, in compliance with the requirements of budget legislation. According to the submitted proposals, the funds will be distributed between regional and community budgets.

The resolution was adopted pursuant to the provisions of the Budget Code of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine ‘On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026’ and does not provide for an increase in total expenditure: all funds have already been allocated in the state budget for 2026.

In total, the Budget for 2026 allocates UAH 8.94 billion to the programme of additional subsidies to local budgets, of which UAH 2.95 billion is intended specifically to cover the expenditure of educational and healthcare institutions.
