President Petro Poroshenko signed the Law “On Foudnations of State Regional Policy”.

The law No. 156-VIII, adopted by Verkhovna Rada on February 5, provides the basic legal, economic, social, environmental, humanitarian, and organizational principles of state regional policy as a component of internal policy of Ukraine.

The law provides the legislative basis for implementation of the new state regional policy, which must embrace a much wider range of issues than just support of regional development.

Particularly, the document includes the definition of goal, principles, and priorities of regional policy, the state strategy of regional development, the competencies of state regional policy subjectsnted,ld always be prece; it defines the principles of financial support and monitoring of implementation of state regional policy.
