Financiers were taught to increase local budgets. Now they will help their hromadas

Local finance experts from regional offices of Local Government Development Centre studied the ways to strengthen the revenue part of local budgets, reserves for increasing revenues, effective tax administration and other issues. A special two-day training was conducted for them in Kyiv with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme.

The task of such trainings is to help local self-government bodies establish high-quality financial management on their territory, which, in turn, will ensure budget growth and sustainable development.

"Hromada residents should know that if they purchased an excisable product and did not receive a receipt, then it means that the budget will not receive revenues the hromada could direct to the development of roads, social network or other important projects for people. An appropriate information campaign should be conducted on the territory of each hromada. Residents should know that each of them is also responsible for capability of his/her hromada in provision of high-quality services for them," said Yanina Kazyuk, fiscal decentralisation coordinator of the Central Reform Office under MinRegion.
