ANNOUNCEMENT! Conference on “New waste management policy – the path to circular economy” to be held on 5-6 June in Kyiv

The conference “New waste management policy – the path to circular economy” will be held in Kyiv on 5-6 June.

The event will focus on the implementation of the National Waste Management Strategy by 2030, the prospects for switching to the closed-loop economy and the EU's waste management policy.

The conference is organised by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine with the support of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and EU-funded projects (Twinning, APENA, BRDO), the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Decentralisation Support in Ukraine” (DESPRO).

During the event, the draft Framework Waste Law, National Waste Management Plan, principles of sectoral laws (electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and packaging) will be presented.

It is planned that the event will be attended by:

  • Ostap Semerak, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine,
  • Stepan Kubiv, First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine,
  • Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine
  • Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration,
  • Hugues Mingarelli, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine,
  • Andriy Hunder, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine,
  • Mykola Kuzyo, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European Integration.
