Ukraine's first oblast-wide contest of best practices launched

Donetsk Oblast State Administration, Oblast Civil-Military Administration launched the first regional contest "Best Practices of Local Self-Government", according to the decree of the Head of the Oblast State Administration dated 14 June 2018, No. 811/5-18 "On the regional contest "Best Practices of Local Self-Government".

The contest is aimed at identifying, celebrating and disseminating best practices of local self-government in Donetsk region implemented in 2016-2017.

The applications should be submitted by 15 September 2018, award ceremony will take place on 15 December 2018.

The Contest is based on the Council of Europe methodology and organised with support of the Council of Europe Program "Decentralisation and local government reform in Ukraine".

Note: In 2012-2013 the Contest “Best Practices of Local Self-Government” was organised in Ukraine by the Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform of the Council of Europe. Starting from 2014 the Contest is organised annually by the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Economy of Ukraine with the Council of Europe support.
