The UN Development Programme has recently handed a digital suitcase, purchased within the Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme with the EU financial support, to the Administrative Service Centre in the Mykolayivska AH of the Donetsk Oblast.

Such a mobile “ASC in a suitcase” will significantly improve the process of administrative and social service delivery to people with reduced mobility: the elderly, people with disabilities, women with small children, citizens who cannot visit ASC on their own.

“From now on, there is no need to come to the ASC to receive administrative and social services, because the ASC can come to you,” said Mr. Janthomas Hiemstra, UNDP Country Director in Ukraine.

“This technology allows providing high-quality services to people with disabilities, elderly people in remote areas, including near the demarcation line,” he added.

Mobile ASC has the form of a small metal suitcase that includes a laptop, an ID-card reader, an internet modem, and specialised software.

Such kits are manufactured and programmed in Kremenna city of the Luhansk Oblast. A total of 16 such kits will be provided to hromadas in the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblast in the coming weeks.

Due to the EU support, the UNDP also helped to create 13 ASCs in the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. This assistance includes the provision of modern furniture, equipment, software, as well as development of personnel capacity in providing services to citizens.
