A presentation of an innovative programme for the development of capacity of amalgamated hromadas, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation in partnership with LLC Blominfo-Ukraine, NGO “DESPRO” and the Kyiv Economic Institute within the framework of the USAID Project “Support for Agrarian and Rural Development”, took place in Zaporizhzhia.

Representatives of 43 AHs, StateGeoCadastre in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Department of Ecology and Natural Resources, Zaporizhzhia Oblast Directoarte of Forestry and Hunting, Zaporizhzhia Oblast Production Directorate of Land Amelioration and Water Management, heads of interested structural units of the OSA, as well as Zaporizhzhia Regional Department “Association of Ukrainian Cities” and Zaporizhzhia Local Government Development Centre were invited to participate in the presentation.

Opening the event, Oleksandr Babanin, deputy head of the Oblast State Administration, stressed that the Local Systemic Development Programme has been operating in Ukraine for only a month.

“In general, the Programme will work with AHs of the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Kherson Oblasts. Today, project representatives present the practical results of work on an integrated approach in AH land management, tell about the main stages of work and important issues necessary for the successful implementation of this work on the basis of the partner AHs of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The practical lessons will describe the procedure for participation in the competition for the selection of partner amalgamated hromadas,” said the official.
