Nabutivska AH: new rural health post, ASC, children’s recreation camp

Everywhere in this hromada one can see evidence of its stability and continuous development. In spite of the fact that the Nabutivska AH in the Korsun Rayon received many of the healthcare, educational, cultural facilities, the hromada manages not only to maintain them at the normal level, but repair, improve and modernise. In addition to renovations, new roads and street lighting, the Nabutivska AH is opening new facilities – three of them will be available this year. Participants of the press-tour organised by the Cherkasy Local Government Development Centre of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme learned about the powerful development of the Nabutivska hromada.

The AH is a union of 13 villages with 5 schools, 2 outpatient clinics, 7 rural health posts, 1 music school and 1 family-type orphanage, 7 houses of culture, 2 village clubs, 7 libraries.

Oleh Malyuha, head of the Nabutivska AH

Oleh Malyuha, head of the Nabutivska AH, says that many projects – such as road repairs or rural health posts – are possible to implement by co-financing from the hromada and its residents, private entrepreneurs.

There are two ambulances in the AH today, soon the third one will appear. Already today there is a possibility to pass the most necessary medical tests, in future they plan to open an ultrasonography room and modern dentist office.

The introduction of telemedicine is actively developing as well. The hromada purchases housing for invited new doctors. At the moment, Nabutiv is promptly renovating a new outpatient facility with the co-financing of the state, which will open doors for patients this year. Preparation for the ASC opening (supported by the U-LEAD with Europe Programme), that will provide 86 services (instead of only 11 currently available), is being completed.

The AH head is convinced that in order for people to live and work in the village, it is first and foremost necessary to provide a high level of medical and educational services.

School in Sakhnivka

Sakhnivka village supports and develops a unique school in the Cherkasy Oblast (innovative and hub institution) – a school named after O. Zakharenko. It is a modern educational and sports complex with a swimming pool, planetarium, observatory, a block of workshops, several museums and a dendrological park with a children's amusement complex.

UAH 5.5 million of local budget funds are spent annually on maintaining the school. Today there are two school buses to transport pupils, the AH plans to buy a third one. In Sakhnivka there is a children's brass band, the only one all over the Cherkasy Oblast.

This year, Sakhnivka plans to open a children's camp, as well as the only one in the AHs of the oblast.

Up to 80 children will be able to stay at the camp at once, both in summer and in winter.
