The issue of starosta election has become debatable within the context of election legislation amendments (bill 3485).

The Law On the Local Self-Government in Ukraine regulates the status and powers of starostas legally. It is natural that the issue of defining the powers term rises. That is why a set of amendments were made to bill 3485, being able to address the issue. There are different ways of solving the issue and all of them are qualified for realisation. Such ways are considered by Olena Boyko, a people’s deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation, a candidate of sciences in state administration.
