Young and concerned: how do youth councils help hromadas during the pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has become a real challenge for hromadas. Local councils had to efficiently respond to lots of challenges: providing health-care institutions with the necessary materials and equipment, implementing anti-epidemic measures, informing the population about safety measures. At some hromadas the local authorities have been actively assisted by the youth councils to cope with the new tasks.

Thus, youth councils are active institutions of the civic society, which are worth developing and supporting in Ukrainian hromadas, as they enable young people to influence local problems solution and to be involved in assisting those in need of help.
