On April 15, 2021 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in its second reading and as a whole Draft of the Law on amending some laws of Ukraine on starosta institute development №4535.

«Passing bill №4535, developed by the MinRegion and the line Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is an important step for decentralization to continue, we are jointly working over. The bill enables hromada residents to influence the choice starosta candidates to represent hromada interests before the local authorities. I am grateful to the Ministry team, people’s deputies, local self-government representatives and experts for their cooperation», – emphasized Oleksiy Chernyshov, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
