The Ukrainian town of Chortkiv of the Ternopil region has joined twin towns of the French municipality of Beziers. The French municipality immediately organized humanitarian aid delivery to Chortkiv where the aid is distributed among municipalities of the regions where people want help most of all. It was reported by Chortkiv mayor Volodymyr Shmatko in the Chronicles of War programme of the Hromadske radio.
«The humanitarian cargo, comprising two lorries, is to reach Poland this Sunday from where we will get and distribute it among the municipalities that are in need of aid most of all», - said Volodymyr Shmatko.
Volodymyr Shmatko expressed his gratitude to everybody who is not indifferent and assists Ukraine in fighting for its sovereignty, freedom and independence.
He also emphasized the significance of the international marathon «Global local self-government solidarity for the sake of welfare of people and the world», initiated by the MinRegion jointly with the marathon partners.
