Deputy heads of AHs and deputy heads of rural starosta districts from the Vinnytsia Oblast visited the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast as part of their two-day study tour organised with the support of the Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centres and the U-LEAD with Europe Programme. The visit was dedicated to the infrastructure development of amalgamated hromadas based on the example of amalgamated hromadas in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Vitaliy Shvets, advisor of the Vinnytsia LGDC, summed up the results of the event and noted that the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast established good cooperation between all authority branches to support AHs, decentralisation processes and financing of hromadas’ development projects, which, according to the expert, is a good incentive to amalgamation. In addition, Vitaliy Shvets drew attention to the high indicators of education development in hromadas and starosta districts of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

"Almost all AHs have been optimized for the educational network, children are receiving a full range of quality educational services. And although this path is not easy, but such an organisation for functioning the education system can give a good result in the future. For rural areas, this is extremely important," said the expert.

According to the results of the study tour, the Krasnopilska rural AH immediately applied for participation in the "Police Officer for Hromada" project in the Vinnytsia Oblast after returning home. Vitaliy Shvets, advisor of the Vinnytsia LGDC, added that currently 6 AHs of the oblast are contesting the right to participate in this initiative.
