The Youth Centre “Initsyatyva” is currently working in the village of Oleksandrivka of the Cherkaska hromada. The leaders of the Donetsk Oblast and Cherkaska AH participated in the grand opening of the facility.

The oblast continues to implement the programme for the creation of youth centres in hromadas. “First of all, a big problem is that young people leave small hromadas for large cities. Secondly, the youth and not only the youth in rural and urban hromadas face a problem of lack of places to spend their leisure time. And youth centres help to solve these two problems. Young people have places where they can spend their free time and develop. In addition, infrastructure development in small hromadas increases the motivation of some young people to stay at home and develop their AH, their territory,” said Maksym Tkach, adviser of the Donetsk Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme.
